Meeting recordings, documents, and verified team outcomes

Thesis helps teams work with meeting recordings and documents: it converts speech to text, produces concise summaries, and finds information in selected materials. Teams can bring together information on a topic, verify agreements, and revisit them before the next meeting. Connected calendars, reminders, and configured Assistant agents help prepare for discussions and follow up on their outcomes.

The Assistant can help prepare documents and spreadsheets from selected materials, while available organizational templates give the result a familiar format. A person checks the content and unfilled fields; confirm that this capability is available in the specific deployment.

Who it is for

After a meeting, information often remains in a long recording and personal notes. Continuing the work means finding decisions again, identifying who is responsible, and reconstructing the context. Thesis connects the content of a conversation with the team’s next steps.

  • Meeting participants — recall decisions and find a specific part of a conversation.
  • Managers — review outcomes and determine the next steps.
  • Project teams — keep meetings and documents on a shared topic together.
  • Staff preparing meeting minutes — obtain a starting point for the final document and check it against the recording.
  • Analysts and specialists — find information in documents, compare materials, and verify the sources behind an answer.
  • Administrators — manage access, connect sources, and monitor processing and system usage.

How it works

Add a recording → obtain a transcript and summary → verify the outcomes → assign action items → approve and publish meeting minutes → prepare for the next meeting.

For example, after a team meeting, a staff member reviews the generated summary, clarifies the wording of decisions, and shares the agreed outcome with colleagues. Before the next discussion, the team returns to the saved materials.

Work can also start without a meeting recording: add documents approved for processing, select them for the Assistant, and ask a question. For example, compare two sample process descriptions and find differences with references to the materials.

Where Thesis runs and how data is processed

Thesis is deployed within the organization’s infrastructure. The main way to use it is through the built-in web interface: users open their site’s address in a browser and sign in with their assigned permissions. The administrator controls access to sources and materials, along with processing and storage settings.

AI models and additional tools can run locally or in an external service. When an external service is connected, the context sent to it leaves the site. Deploying Thesis locally therefore does not, by itself, mean that all data is processed locally. Operation without Internet access depends on the selected models, connections, and deployment configuration.

The documented capabilities of the separate Thesis Client application include audio recording, uploading materials, viewing results, and using the Assistant. Availability on a particular device and compatibility with the server must be confirmed for the deployment. See Interfaces and devices for details on client availability.

Getting to know Thesis

What remains after a meeting

Result Purpose
Transcript Read the conversation and find a specific point in the recording.
Summary Quickly understand the main topics and proposed outcomes.
Decisions and open questions Separate agreements from matters that still need discussion.
Action items Record the assignee, due date, and work status.
Meeting minutes Share a document that has been reviewed and approved by a person.

A summary helps prepare meeting minutes, but does not automatically become an approved document. A person assigns the action items and their due dates.

Beyond a recording archive

  • Read and search for a discussion instead of listening to the entire meeting again.
  • Collect materials from several meetings in a project workspace.
  • Ask the Assistant questions about selected materials and verify its answers against the sources.
  • Return to action items, decisions, and open questions after the conversation.
  • Use documents on their own or together with meeting materials.
  • With the relevant connections enabled, access calendar meetings, notifications, and automatically prepared Assistant responses.

Thesis does not make decisions for participants or guarantee that action items will be completed. It makes materials easier to review and use collaboratively.

Important considerations

Thesis does not replace a video conferencing system. It helps teams work with the content and outcomes of conversations. Available features depend on the version, configuration, and assigned permissions, and must be confirmed for the specific deployment.

AI results require review: names, numbers, decisions, and dates may be recognized or presented incorrectly. An automatically generated summary is not approved meeting minutes.
